The Experience
The Residence of Mr. Moto is more than a restaurant—it is an invitation into the gourmand’s home, designed to chronicle the tales of his travels. Guests enter through a subtle front door reminiscent of a late-1800s residence.
In the entryway, they are surrounded by a gallery wall featuring artifacts and antiques collected from Mr. Moto’s various explorations, along with genuine antique pieces from Japan and other travels. The dining areas are adorned with personal mementos, including portraits and display cases featuring Mr. Moto’s favorite outfits and accessories, evoking the intimacy of a lived-in space. For a touch of nostalgia, butler bells are placed between tables, allowing guests to summon attendants for a signature ochazuke pour when ready, creating an interactive touch.
OUR Signature MENU
The menu at The Residence of Mr. Moto offers a blend of familiar and refined Japanese comfort food, inspired by traditional Japanese home-cooked recipes. Mr. Moto offers a full traditional sushi menu with recipes freshly flown in from Japan.
As our signature, Mr. Moto serves a Japanese delicacy called the kaisen-don (海鮮丼)—a rice bowl made with tower of freshly prepared sashimi. Mr. Moto invites you to finish the kaisen-don bowl with our signature broth called the ochazuke お茶漬け— a heart-warming broth that is prepared for over 60 hours and infused with every fish used to prepared for the meal. Inspired by Mr. Moto’s worldly travels, the ochazuke embodies a Japanese tradition steeped in centuries of history.
To enjoy, pour the broth over your remaining rice, savoring the melding of textures and flavors—a comforting end that captures the full circle of life.
